Don’t Run Alone

TeamCaptain —  August 14, 2012

dont run aloneI am on my knees gasping for breath and willing my arms & chest to push out 15 more push-ups.  I was toast!  I had run 8 miles, done 250 pushups & 100 pull-ups and we were only 3/4 of the way to our goal. My upper body was as rubbery as gumby.

I was beginning to think I had bitten off more than I could handle. Doubt was slowly slithering its way into my mind.

“You cannot do it!  13 miles, 250 pull-ups & 500 push-ups – YOU IDIOT.  Why did you decide to do this?,” I thought.

Then I heard the voice of Cyborg, “Hey you gonna finish with those push-ups or what?  Let’s get going if we are gonna run an extra 7 miles.” Continue Reading…

CONGRATULATIONS

Creating MomentumYou have finished your first team uppercut workout. For some of you it was easy. For others it was torture. It doesn’t really matter where you are on the “Easy vs.Torture” scale. What does matter is that you continue moving forward.

It is a beautiful but highly challenging race held in Duluth, MN.  You can see the details here:  Wild Race Duluth.  I would like to invite anyone else interested to join up with Cyborg and I in this journey.  It is a very large commitment and will not be easy.

At this stage the thoughts are… Continue Reading…

As I look through the picture Gallery taken by our personal photographer I began to feel a sense of pride in seeing all the members of Team Uppercut excelling.  It was what I would describe as a dynamic mix of personalities that shines through as you page through the pictures and the fact that all 15 participants finished mostly unharmed was nothing short of amazing. I learned a lot about myself and 14 others guys that prior to training for this event I did not know too much about.  If you search the internet you can find blogs all over the place about people discussing their personal thoughts and emotions as they grinded their way through the mud and misery of race day.  Continue Reading…
