TRX SUSPENSION TRAINING

It is time!  Summer is over and fall has arrived and with it so has Team Uppercut.  That’s right it is time to get off the couch and get connected to your team mate again.   On Tuesday, October 22nd  at 8:00 p.m.  Team Uppercut is gonna attack its next challenge:  TRX Suspension Training.   Mark Jenkins is going to be leading Team Uppercut through a intense six week, twelve sessions of TRX Suspension Training.  (Tuesdays & Thursdays) Team Uppercut will be partnering with Impact Martial Arts and Fitness Gym in the Oak Park Mall.  Here is what Mark has to say about Team Uppercut and TRX Suspension Training

The Details

1075428_532324630167683_1232961481_o“We will be doing a 30 minute TRX Suspension Training session twice a week for 6 weeks. (Tuesdays & Thursdays) TRX is a fitness activity that anyone can do, at any level.  A very efficient exercise that is the ultimate cross training.  We will then have about a 15 minute talk and prayer.  The theme is Declaring War: Wining the Everyday Battles.  Being a strong christian, a warrior in your marriage, dating relationship, family, community and church.  There will be a cost of $40 per person to cover the cost of the gym.  You will get 12 sessions for $40.”

There are about 20-22 spots available on the team this fall.  Spots are given out on a first come first serve basis.  If you would like to be a part of this team you can contact either Aaron Broberg or Mark Jenkins.  Spots are going fast so don’t shrink back, act now.

5k to 50k

Spring should appear any day now and as winter leaves us so do the excuses I have the ability to make to bypass a run or skip a workout.  Now weather will not be a factor and a good many hours are about to be logged in the great out doors.  The kids are already outside every chance they get and so the volume of television being watched is in a steady decline.  This leads me to the decision to Continue Reading…

Passion for the Pain

5k to 50k dirtMonday night I went out for a 5 mile run. This was after doing the longest run of this cold spring the day before of 11.5 miles.  The pain I felt with each step was pushing my limits.  Then add in the fact the sun had gone down and there was a brisk cold wind pushing in our last “winter storm” of the year and running suddenly did not seem like a good idea.  Every corner we turned the wind seemed to keep blowing in our face.  Tony and I had already set out and after about 5 minutes of complaining about how my legs felt they were going to snap in half at mid shin and how cold the wind was I decided to shut my mouth and press on.  Continue Reading…
